This is definitely a love at first sight considering how Laurene and Robert met at an entertainment event with Laurene as the event photographer and Robert as a big hit actor, but they cling together pretty quickly. The writing style was a bit off for me though.
It felt like it was written more as if telling someone what happened rather than the story actually happening at that moment. There was a big lack of dialogue with many of the activities saying how they talked and giggled and laughed for this long but the actual conversation is really empty since we don’t know what is going on. A timeline is also unclear of how much time is spent together that has them briefly apart. Laurene emphasizes how they are a fling rather than a relationship, but Robert is almost the opposite.

I always thought that having your every move scrutinized and dissected by the media is a fair exchange for celebrities. Especially since they are paid millions. This book gives us insight as to how it chips away at them since we treat them as public property, even giving opinion on who they should date or not.
It is incredibly sad that as an adult you need to hide your affection for someone. Good read.

I wanted to say love at first sight, but it wasn’t. There were definitely sparks, though.
This book made me think about how someone’s misery is made to become entertainment to the public. The media plays a large part on how the public perceives a person and a situation.
I am glad Laurene and Robert got their HEA.

Laurene and Robert’s romance is pretty dang captivating, coming out of nowhere in the glitzy world they live in. I kinda liked the writing style like how it added this extra thinking vibe to the story. There’s not a ton of back-and-forth talk, but weirdly, that made me feel the characters’ connection even more. The timeline adds this mystery that had me hooked on what’s going on between them. I was totally into this love-against-all-odds deal – made for a solid read.
