TRIGGER WARNING: Patient-doctor violence, some bad language

I immediately liked the synopsis of In Love with the Resident. The novel started off explosively and I thought this was a great way to get to know Dr. Siobhan Fitzgerald.

I liked Liam, and the difference between him and Dr. Fitzgerald was a lot. I was curious as to if they’d ever get along. Dr. Fitzgerald was formidable and I found her quite intimidating. Candace was fun.

I really felt immersed in the characters’ lives, and in the daily workings of the hospital. I’ve spent time in and out of hospital because of my disabilities.

The fast pacing was appropriate for the plot and subject matter.

However, the grammar and spelling mistakes and rapid changes in tenses pulled me out of the story a little which was a shame.

Overall, I really enjoyed In Love with the Resident.

    4.5 stars.

    Thanks to Maria Barnett.

This is the first book I have read by Maria, and she did a really good job with the characters Liam and Siobhan. The characters were written in a way that will have you reading more and more to see how everything works out which is really good, and the ending is perfect.

I enjoyed this book. The book kept my interest for the most part. It had a lot of suspense as well. I received an advanced review copy from booksprout, but my review is unbiased.
