The season brings unexpected surprises and a chance for healing. After her engagement party disaster and being cut off by her father, Arabella has spent the last seven years working hard to build a life for herself and her young son. She’s determined to stay independent and move on from her family’s past. But just before Thanksgiving, she receives an unexpected call from her father, asking her to come home. Arabella hopes this Thanksgiving will be the fresh start she’s been waiting for.
However, things don’t go as smoothly as she hoped. Instead of a warm welcome, Arabella is confronted with her father’s old-fashioned ideas and shocking news. He has arranged a marriage for her. According to her father, this marriage is meant to meet his rigid expectations and protect the family’s reputation. Arabella is torn, trapped by her father’s demands but also desperate to find a way to make peace.
In the middle of this stressful family situation, Arabella meets Christian, a kind and charming stranger on a plane ride home. Christian’s arrival in her life couldn’t have come at a better time. He becomes an unexpected guy, helping Arabella navigate her overbearing father, a bitter ex-fiancé, and a scheming friend who seems to have their own agenda. Christian’s support gives Arabella the strength she needs to face these challenges, and soon they start to grow closer.
As their bond deepens, Arabella begins to feel something she hasn’t felt in a long-time hope. Christian helps her see the possibility of a new beginning, one where she doesn’t have to carry all the weight alone. But just as their relationship is starting to bloom, Arabella discovers something that shakes her world once again. Christian might be the father of her son. This revelation complicates their growing relationship and forces Arabella to confront old emotions she’s been trying to bury.

What an amazing storyline and the perfect book to read around Thanksgiving time. I felt sorry for everything that Arabella had to go through being a single mom to her son, but also dealing with her family’s ridicule. I truly enjoyed seeing the outcome of this book and what an ending. 🙂 If you want to see what happens to Arabella and her son, you will need to see for yourself.

Arabella and Christian are both engaged to other people when a strange night occurs, and the results separate them from their plans. Seven years later they meet on a plane when she is sleeping and her son Jade comes to sit with him, right behind her. He has fun with the kid and they cross paths again and again. She is looking for her son’s father and the clues are hard to get, as her memory of the night is still void. Christian has noticed the unique mark on her shoulder that the mystery woman also had so he does a DNA test to verify that he is Jade’s father. Now for the proof of what really happened. The characters are terrific, with deep feelings and interesting families. The storyline twists and misconceptions will totally keep you on the edge, not knowing just what else will happen. Lots of secrets, hidden agendas and the mastermind behind it all is a complete surprise, as well as the reasoning behind it all. Loved their chemistry and Jade is unforgettable. The ending brings it all together is an awesome way.

I am reading holiday books right now and this was the first to come across about Thanksgiving.
The chapters alternate between Arabella and Christian. I’m not going to lie, I like reading from Christian’s side in this story, though both have a great flow through the story.
It begins with a prequel 7 years earlier from Arabella at an engagement party with Aiden Smith. I did not look at the chapter titles beforehand and did not know that he was not the male leader in the story until chapter two.
Family business are the main drive of Arabella’s family, with that engagement being an arranged marriage. To be honest I want to be like no way Jose! This is in California and I just don’t get it when there are so many people around and I wouldn’t expect it in this century. I guess maybe if the family is newer from a different country that still follows arrangements but details of the story surprised me, especially considering that these days it’s more of a find yourself thing in the public eye.
Aiden was initially arranged to marry Jessica Adams, but she makes the decision not to marry someone she doesn’t know. Arabella is so happy to have Aiden at her side until a major scandal happens. This leads to Arabella moving out of LA until chapter 1 starts and her demanding father who disowned her because of the scandal calls and asks her to come home because he is on the brink of dying.
Arabella is happy to have her best friend Laurel in LA to help her with what is to come. Laurel even upgrades Arabella’s flight tickets. This makes a big difference with the whole story without Laurel even knowing.
The story is well written and there are a few great turns. I read in the afternoon finishing before I had dinner. Nice weekend read.

A great book that took you in many directions but ended with a HEA. I was shocked you did it, never saw it coming. If you like mysteries and love stories then this book is for you.
